Essay log, number 1

Working on my first essay in fifteen years. Very nervous. I am 1000 words in on a first draft. Word limit is about 2500 words. Aiming to have a complete first draft by Wednesday and spending the rest of week polishing it up and working on footnotes and bibliography formatting etc… The finessing. Deadline is Monday 3rd at noon. I didn’ t believe I could do until today – need more self-belief!!

Logging it all here because I need it to boost me along. Mature student drama!!! I love writing essays though!!

Yes, this year will be one of the most difficult of my life but perhaps also one of the best.

Halfway through my first term ALREADY. Three more half-terms of classes to go. A quarter down. And then the summer dissertation.

By this time at UCD I had sprained my ankle quite badly while dancing down the steps with joy and had battled a bad dose of Covid (which left me with a cough I am still struggling with). I also later sustained a concussion in the term after Christmas.

Haven’t even had a cold yet which is sort of a miracle.
