Róisín Ní Neachtain (b. 1983, Switzerland) is an artist and writer. Her writing has placed and been shortlisted in a number of competitions and she was awarded the Dennis O’Driscoll Literary Bursary Award for Established Writers in 2025. Róisín is a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland and the Irish Writers Centre. She was also the founder of Orphic Press where she co-edited The Orphic Review (2018-2025). Róisín did partial studies in law and political science at Trinity College Dublin before being awarded a first class honours in her Masters in Creative Writing at UCD and was awarded Publishing Ireland’s inaugural Breakthrough Award in 2024.
She is currently working on her next poetry collection and a picture-book. Róisín is an experienced French to English translator.
*In 2025, Róisín stopped painting as she no longer had access to studio space. She will be concentrating on small scale drawings for the foreseeable future. She will also be focusing on publishing the works in books, as art projects, rather than exhibiting.
