College! and Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin
Officially finished my year at Trinity. SIX YEARS at Trinity and my time there is officially complete. It’s been a huge, deeply strange and mostly harrowing journey. What a privilege though. What a life. It changed me completely. I could write a book about it but that is as much as I will say on the subject.
How different this year was to my undergraduate studies. I would like to focus on the positive from now on. I’d had this huge yearning to study English lit there, as a writer. I wanted to be ‘one of them.’ I am spending the next year going over all my lecture notes and readings and doing all the readings for the Joyce module too which I didn't take in the end (preferring to study Edgeworth who was totally unfamiliar to me).
On a separate note, I finally read Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin’s Ireland Chair of Poetry lectures and could barely put it down. I enjoyed it the best of all of the ones I have read so far. What an extraordinary mind.
I will finish by saying that I now need a new writing project.
